How many times can an electrode be reused?
Both standard and hypoallergenic electrodes can be reused as long as the electrode adheres well to the skin on the forehead. The number of uses varies from person to person. Standard electrodes typically provide more uses than hypoallergenic.
Are electrodes compatible with all Cefaly models?
Electrodes may be used with CEFALY Connected, CEFALY Enhanced, and CEFALY Dual devices.
How do I extend the life of my electrodes?
- Prep your skin. Wash and dry your forehead before each treatment. Use basic soap, not alcohol wipes or facial cleansers. Don’t apply moisturizers or makeup.
- Handle by the edge. Wash your hands before applying the electrode.
- Recline or lie down. To keep the electrode in place, recline during your treatment. Don’t move around.
- Keep it fresh. When you remove an electrode after treatment, replace it on the plastic backing, adhesive side down. Then, seal it in the electrode pouch.
- Add water. A few drops of tap water may gently rehydrate an electrode and help it stay usable longer.
How do I know when it is time for a new electrode?
Throw your electrode away and get a one if:
- You notice the electrode gel is dried out, dirty, cracked, or clumping
- The electrode curls up at the edges when you apply it to your skin, or it doesn’t stay in place during treatment
- You notice the stimulation feels different or causes any discomfort
Can I use my HSA or FSA account to buy Cefaly electrodes?
In the U.S., Cefaly and electrodes are HSA/FSA approved expenses. Your purchase may be reimbursed through your Health Savings Account or Flexible Spending Account. Use your HSA/FSA card at checkout.
How do I manage my electrode subscription account?
Sign into your account to manage your subscription. Go to “Manage Subscription” to change your next shipment date or details, or cancel at any time.
How do I know if I need hypoallergenic electrodes?
We recommend the hypoallergenic electrodes for anyone with a known acrylate allergy, or who experiences an allergic reaction (rash) on the forehead after using standard electrodes.
If you notice that the skin under the electrode appears red or blotchy after a treatment session, this effect is normal. It’s caused by increased local blood flow to the skin, and usually it disappears within 15 minutes.
If a temporary rash develops on the forehead, this can mean you have an allergy to the electrode. If this should occur, stop using Cefaly until the rash disappears, which may take a few days. The use of an anti-inflammatory cream can help the rash go away. Try using hypoallergenic electrodes instead, and contact your doctor or CEFALY Technology if you have any questions.
Can I use non-Cefaly electrodes or electrode gel with my Cefaly device?
No. Your Cefaly device only works with Cefaly electrodes.
What are the ingredients in Cefaly electrodes?
